Description
Fluffy cinnamon-spiced dough swirled with homemade strawberry jam and topped with cream cheese frosting. A springtime twist on classic cinnamon rolls, perfect for breakfast or a cozy treat.
Ingredients
2 large eggs, room temperature
¼ cup granulated sugar (dough)
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
½ cup warm milk (110°F/45°C)
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups ripe strawberries, chopped
1 cup granulated sugar (jam)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp milk
1–2 strawberries (for topping)
Instructions
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let rest until foamy (5–10 minutes).
Mix flour, sugar (dough), salt, softened butter, and vanilla in a mixer. Add yeast mixture; knead until smooth.
Let dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled.
Roll dough into ¼-inch-thick rectangle. Spread homemade strawberry jam (chopped strawberries + sugar + lemon, simmered 15 mins) evenly over dough.
Roll tightly into a log. Cut into 12 rolls. Place on a baking sheet; let rise 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake 25 minutes, or until golden.
For frosting: Whisk cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk. Add crushed strawberries for texture. Pipe or spread over warm rolls.
Notes
For best flavor, use freshly picked or very ripe strawberries.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 day or refrigerate for 2–3 days.
Swap strawberries with raspberries or blueberries for seasonal variations.
